  1. Hey i saw your recipe for pine tart. and damn yours looks like the ones that are SOLD ! After that i had to explore your site.
geez it makes me so hungry… xD

i was wondering if you have the recipe for rice pudding or kire [ key-ear ]
ha forget my spelling and look at the pronounciation. =P

OH OH and pouloree and bara… again with the spelling but i’m sure you know what i mean.

  2. Jehan! Wow. What can I say, you almost bring tears to my eyes, girlfriend. I’ll be filing away all of these recipes, you hear me?! I cannot proclaim myself to be a cook, but I am one of those types who will learn a few things, repeat them over and over and make them well… Guyanese patties-my specialty! I was online punshing to try and explain to a Trini friend how to make patties, but not just your average “run a de mill” patty (see North American commercialized Jamaican patty-sorry, but it’s the truth!)… no, I’m talking about the best patty there is (if you’re a Guyanese)-GUYANESE STYLE PATTIES! Right down to the lovely pans, I see that you have used… you captured my recipe perfectly, so it was as easy as right click, copy and paste! My only addition to your recipe since I like my patties hot is MIRI WIRI (or wiri wiri) pepper… gott have a few of those in there too for extra KICK! THANK-YOU for the inspiration… please update us on the business and you must be tinkin’ bout a cookbook?! Say yes, and I’ll be your first customer! There is hope yet for me to be “MCC-Meshelle Can Cook”! Cheers, my friend.

  3. Thank you for all the great compliments. I know exactly how you feel about Guyanese recipes and that is the reason why I started this blog. Keep visiting my blog, I plan on posting more authentic Guyanese recipes from time to time.

  4. Your dishes look amazing. Do you make pulouri balls. Not sure how to spell it. My Gran used to make them and serve with Tamarind dipping sauce, I would love to track down a recipe.

  5. Hey J,

i have been looking everywhere to find a good guyanese recipe site!

  10. by the way you wouldn’t happen to have a black pudding recipe would you :) ?

  11. I do not have the recipe for black pudding but I will definitely be looking into finding a good one.

  12. hey girl, your page is amazing!
This is probably the most authentic Guyanese recipes out there.
by the way do you have a recipe for crequette ** ( snails)..? its really good.

    Keep up the good work!

    Kavita

  13. Thank you so much…but unfortunately I have never had snails so I don’t have a recipe for that. I’m slowly making my way through all these recipes by finding, creating and testing new old and old recipes so crab curry is soon to come. Keep visiting.

  14. Im having a hard time finding recipes for White and Black pudding you seem to have great recipes and wonder if you have recipes for those. It would be awesome if you did =)

  15. I was looking for the cheese rolls and came across your site. I immediately bookmarked this site. I LOVE it! You have so many delicious recipes and you explain the instructions very well! I will definitely be making many of these recipes. Thanks!
